Abstract

|
This experiment was carried out to study the effective drainage in apricot orchard with heavy clay soil in which was planted one year old $quot;sohwa$quot; cultivar in 1975. The results were studied from 1975 to 1980.
The groud-water level was decreased significantly by 60§¯-open ditches, tile-rubble drain with 30§¯-open ditches and tile-rubble drain treatment respectively.
The tree growth of the apricot was increased by tile-rubble with 30§¯-open ditches. The pruned branch drain and 60§¯-open ditches were shown a little effect on tree growth.
No difference in fruit weight and soluble solids was observed between any treatments.
In 1980 there are fruit yield increases significantly in pruned branch drain, tile-rubble drain and tile-rubble drain with 30§¯-open ditches.
It was obvious from the results that the tile-rubble drain appeared good effects of drain capability, tree growth and yield.
